The TLC Fund for Kids is overseen by a volunteer board of directors, consisting of radio station staff and community leaders who are dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children and families in their region.
Trevor Lines
Board President
Trevor, a dedicated board member of the TLC Fund for Kids for nine years, is also a Marketing Consultant for Pattison Media, managing radio and digital campaigns. He has generously volunteered his time and skills to organizations like the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, and The Dragon Boat Festival. A proud native of Victoria, BC, Trevor is not only a devoted husband but also a father to three boys. He has also been nurturing young talent as a community baseball coach at Carnarvon Ball Club for 13 years.
Kelly King
Secretary
Kelly became a part of the TLC Board in 2022, bringing with her seven years of experience from Habitat for Humanity Victoria, where she fundraised to provide local families with safe, decent homes. Before moving to Victoria a decade ago, she had a lengthy career in Europe's sustainability sector. Kelly has also contributed her expertise to the advisory committee for the Capital Regional District's Solid Waste Management Plan and has volunteered with various regional charities.
Krista Bekkema
Treasurer
Krista, who joined the board in 2022, currently serves as the Director of Finance at Habitat for Humanity Victoria. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in financial management roles and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Her expertise spans financial reporting, project management, risk management, forecasting, budgeting, and cash management. Krista is driven by her passion for the non-profit sector and commitment to giving back to the community. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, and chauffeuring her teenage children to their various sporting activities.
Susan Knight
Director
Susan has a lifetime of supporting the communities she calls home including once wake surfing for 9 hours to raise money for children in the Okanagan. The TLC Fund was a natural fit and she is happy to continue to make sure as many kids as possible have the support they need in life.
Pol Plastino
Director
Pol Plastino is the charismatic host of the Afternoon Show on the Zone @ 91-3 in Victoria. For over 15 years, he has been an integral part of the station and the Vancouver Island community, establishing strong connections through his active involvement and regular public appearances. Known for his vibrant personality, Pol's motivation to be part of the TLC Fund stems from his deep love for his niece and nephew.
Albert Berns
Director
Albert Berns, a dedicated community supporter, joined the board in 2023. Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Albert balances his roles as a father, husband, and lawyer with a lifelong commitment to uplifting his community through charitable work. He has spent 25 years practicing law in Westshore and is also an active soccer player and coach. Beyond law and sports, Albert owns Ghostfinger Productions Ltd., a concert promotions company. He enjoys music, sports, travel, and outdoor activities.
