Merridale Ciderworks’ Yule Fuel Fundraiser
In partnership with The Zone @ 91-3, Merridale Ciderworks released a limited run of specialty cider called “Yule Fuel”.

T.L.C. Fund for Kids President, Sara Fletcher graciously accepts the $1,500 donation from Jason Child of Merridale Ciderworks.
Proceeds from the sales of the cider went to The T.L.C. Fund for Kids and altogether Merridale managed to raise $1,500!
UVic Vikes Basketball Camp
Thanks to the wonderful talent and generosity of the UVic Vikes Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, a number of local kids got some valuable time on the court learning the game of basketball in a two-hour camp.
This whole initiative was a fundraiser in support of The T.L.C. Fund for Kids and managed to raise $2,425.00!
You can read more about the success of the camp here.
Thanks to Peninsula Co-op…and Jeff (member #44091)
If you ever listen to 100.3 The Q or The Zone @ 91-3, you just might hear one of these commercials come up for Peninsula Co-op:
Well, thanks to the success of this advertising campaign, customers who often use Jeff’s rebate number 44091 when filling up at a Peninsula Co-op pump (by pure recollection of the radio ad) have helped build up quite the rebate amount!
And thanks to the generosity of Peninsula Co-op, that rebate is going help support kids in need as they donate the rebate cheques to The T.L.C. Fund for Kids!
Huge thanks to Penisula Co-op for their most recent donation of $778.45! And don’t worry…if you ever use 44091 at the Peninsula Co-op pump, rest assured that the rebate money goes to a great cause, and not actually to THIS guy:
Thanks to the Victoria Royals
The T.L.C. Fund for Kids would like to thank the Victoria Royals for their continued support season after season.
Our latest fundraiser with the team was at the Royals’ Teddy Bear Toss game. There, we managed to raise $3,351.75 in 50/50 sales!
Go Royals!

Super E’s Journey with Nemaline Myopathy
Meet Ethan (a.k.a. “Super E”)…
Ethan was recently diagnosed with a congenital myopathy called Nemaline Myopathy (also known as the Rod Body Disease). This is a disease of voluntary muscles that is often non-progressive. The disease affects Ethan’s muscle tone and ability to swallow. In order to assist with his mobility, independence, and physical development, Ethan needed many pieces of medical equipment which were not all covered by government and insurance funds.
We at the T.L.C. Fund for Kids were extremely happy to be able to provide Ethan with a special seating system. According to Ethan’s mother, Ethan will be able to get a lot of use out of the equipment and once he outgrows it, they plan to donate it to the local Queen Alexandra Centre so that it can become a further benefit to families.
If you would like to learn more about Super E’s journey, you can find updates from his family here.
